What is Black Friday?



A four day weekend, the story begins when people began to create shopper's traffic volume to its level of chaos. The Philadelphia suggested the term, the day after Thanksgiving is known as 'Black Friday'.


The Christmas shopping season known since 1952, is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November. Stores offer highly promoted sales on Black Friday. Black Friday is not the official holiday, but California and some other states observe "The Day After Thanksgiving" as a holiday for state government employees. Unless you live in one of the few lucky states, tax is not required to be collected, many online retailers still do not charge sales tax on any purchases on their website. Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming have no deal with a levy on personal income tax, where New Hampshire and Tennessee don't tax wages but do currently tax investment income and interest.
